Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her professional title Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. In October 2016 Ari Lennox debuted her EP Pho. The EP was where she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012 with her release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she dropped additional music on the internet including Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes and on Sweat It Out on the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to use it in conjunction with Rihanna. On December 28, 2008 it was announced that Rihanna had been contracted by Dreamville Records. The release album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. On October 21 2016 she released her debut EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and performed as an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she appeared as a guest on two songs, with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video later released in September. In November, she dropped two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Two more singles were released on the 11th of November Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single February 26, 2019 for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed along with Cole as part of The Creed II sound track on November 16. In February of 2019 a music video was made available for the track. It has already received more than three million views on YouTube within the first week. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
